Call for Session and Abstracts

The first INFORMS Conference on Quality, Statistics, and Reliability (ICQSR) will be held in person at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC, from June 06-08, 2023. ICQSR aims to provide an international forum for exchanging research innovations and advancements that reinforce the scientific essentials – quality improvement, statistical learning, and reliability assurance – and embrace emerging practical challenges. The theme of ICQSR 2023 is Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Analytics for Future Industry, with potential applications in manufacturing, energy, healthcare, human-machine systems, etc. By integrating the efforts from both academia and industry, ICQSR intends to promote original, basic, and transdisciplinary research that potentially makes timely and long-lasting impacts in a broad range of applications.

The Organizing Committee invites you to organize technical sessions, such as invited/contributed sessions, tutorial sessions, and panel discussion sessions, and/or submit abstracts of technical presentations that fit in the following theme-track matrix:

The Program Committee’s goal is to schedule all technical sessions on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday morning. The meeting will maintain a balance of presentations delivered as distinguished talks (with one such talk in a single session followed by general discussion), regular talks (with three such talks in a single session), flash talks (with ten such talks in a single session) and posters.

Session Chair Responsibility Updates:

  • A session chair must select the potential application(s) and the session track to be proposed. Multiple applications may be selected. The session chairs are encouraged to identify additional applications by selecting “Other” and providing more specific information.
  • A session chair may choose to organize a distinguished session, a regular-talk session (with three regular talks), a flash-talk session (with ten flash talks), or other special sessions. Please indicate your preference in the request form. If you have multiple session requests, please submit them in separate request forms.
  • If a regular-talk session has less than three (3) presentations, the session chair may contact the relevant track chairs to discuss options for merging your session with another session. Inviting senior members to present in your session is highly encouraged.
  • The INFORMS abstract submission platform will have distinct entries for regular-talk sessions and flash-talk sessions to be filled by session chairs.
  • Session chairs are encouraged to explicitly announce the flash talk presentation option at the time of the author’s invitation and prioritize finding the flash talk presenters. It is generally best practice to ask each presenter their preference, but a session chair may choose to recruit presenters specifically for each talk type.
